Mother's Day (only 2 weeks away): Maria's Favorite Picks

[A note to all mom's out there, or to those with a special mom in their life: Mother's Day is only 2 weeks away!!]

There’s a version of motherhood we all imagine: slow mornings, meaningful moments, a sense of balance. And then there’s the reality: full calendars, overlapping commitments, and the constant pull between everything that matters most.
Most of us are balancing a lot. Careers. Our well-being. Our homes. Our children.

Right now, I’m in one of the busiest seasons of my life: running La Storia while navigating what feels like an endless rotation of baseball games, soccer practices, track meets, drum lessons… you name it. The days are full, and the evenings even fuller.
And yet, in the middle of all of it, the role I want to show up for most is being a mother.

I don’t want to miss the track meet.
I don’t want to miss the baseball game.
I keep coaching my daughter’s soccer team - not because I have extra time, but because I know these moments are fleeting.
They’re going too fast.

I see my babies growing up right in front of me, and there’s this constant feeling, I can’t hold on tightly enough. At the same time, I’m quietly hoping we’re doing enough… that we’re raising them to be strong, kind, capable humans who will thrive when they’re out in the world on their own.

That tension [holding on and letting go] is something I don’t think we talk about enough.

Becoming an entrepreneur changed everything for me. It gave me flexibility, something I didn’t fully understand the value of until I needed it most. It means I can help with the carpool from track to soccer, even if it also means I’m finishing work late at night when the house is quiet.

It’s not always easy. But it’s worth it.

La Storia was built with intention, and part of that intention was for my children - especially my daughters. I want them to see what’s possible. That you can build something meaningful. That hard work and determination matter. That you don’t have to choose just one path, you can create your own.

And maybe that’s part of what Mother’s Day is really about.
Because when you ask what moms actually want… it’s not complicated.

Yes, we’d love more rest.
A little quiet time.
Maybe a driver to help get kids from one activity to the next.
Someone to fold the laundry, pack the lunches, and keep the house in order.

But mostly?
We want to feel seen.
We want that hug from our children that lingers just a second longer than usual.
Coffee in bed.
A thoughtful gesture that says, “I know you. I appreciate you.”
Not something rushed or expected: but something meaningful.

At La Storia, we’ve always believed that the most beautiful objects carry a story. And the pieces that feel most special are the ones that become part of your everyday life: the quiet moments, the small rituals, the memories being made without even realizing it.

These are a few pieces I personally would adore, not because they’re extravagant, but because they feel intentional:

Simple things. Meaningful things. Pieces that become part of your story.

Because at the end of the day, what moms want most isn’t perfection or extravagance.

It’s connection.
It’s presence.
It’s love: shown in the smallest, most thoughtful ways.

Happy Mother's Day to all of the amazing moms that support La Storia!
